Biography
Marcelo Bucheli studies the political economy of foreign direct investment in Latin America. He received his PhD in History from Stanford University (2002), was the Harvard-Newcomen Fellow in Business History at Harvard Business School (2004-2005), a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study at the University of Illinois (2009-2010), and the John H. Dunning Fellow at Henley Business School, Reading University, UK (2014-2015). He earned a BA and MA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia). Marcelo was the winner of the 2011 Mira Wilkins Award in International Business History, the 2009 Petroleum History Institute Article of the Year Award, and the 2004 Harvard-Newcomen Award for the best article published in ‘Business History Review.'

Research Description
My research focuses on two areas: (a) the political economy of international business in a historical perspective. (b) the integration of organization and management theories with historical research methods. I have published on the banana, coffee, petroleum, and telecommunications industries in the twentieth century covering Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela.
